When Representative West attended session earlier this summer, one of his focuses was on ensuring our constituents could receive assistance during the challenges of COVID-19. With this in mind, Representative West and his colleagues voted to provide emergency mortgage assistance to those negatively impacted by COVID-19. Now, the Emergency Mortgage Assistance program is opening for applications.
.
If you’ve been unable to pay your mortgage due to COVID-19, help is here. IHDA developed the Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program (EMA) to support Illinois homeowners unable to pay their mortgage due to a COVID-19-related loss of income. If you are approved, you will receive a grant of up to $15,000 paid directly to your loan servicer.
.
Funds are limited and applications for EMA will be accepted August 24th through September 4th. Applications might close early due to high volume, so apply as soon as possible. Only one application per household is allowed and an application is not a guarantee of assistance.
.
Don’t wait, apply beginning August 24 at ema.ihda.org. If you do not have access to the internet or need help applying please reach out to NW HomeStart.
