ROCKFORD, Ill. – On December 12th, Rep. Maurice West took 34 eighth-graders to the State Capitol in Springfield. Rep. West has been visiting Kennedy on a bi-weekly basis since the summer where he sees the struggles that are there, yet the potential as well. So, Rep. West decided to partner with them to take the students to Springfield to see the Capitol! “I want them to know that if I can be the State Rep, being a product of RPS - they can too”, says Rep. West.
