More than 200 families came out last night to connect with vital resources, community partners, and one another—all while leaving with bags full of free groceries!

Hosted by State Representative Maurice West, the Nicor Resource Fair was a shining example of collaboration in action. The event brought together local organizations, nonprofits, and volunteers committed to ensuring families have access to the support they need—from housing and employment to healthcare and education.

Families explored a wide range of resource booths, connected with trusted community representatives, and learned about programs designed to empower residents and strengthen neighborhoods. Children enjoyed engaging activities while parents took advantage of the opportunity to connect with service providers who care deeply about our community’s well-being.

“Partnerships like this are what build stronger communities,” said Rep. West. “When we come together to meet real needs and serve our neighbors, everyone wins.”

A huge thank you to Nicor and all of the incredible partners, vendors, and volunteers who helped make this event possible. Because of your efforts, hundreds of families left with hope, resources, and a renewed sense of connection.

This is what community impact looks like in action
