Dear Members of the Rockford Board of Education,
I hope this letter finds you well. I understand that the rules require speakers to sign up by last Friday, and I respect that process. Though I can’t speak at tonight’s meeting, I’m writing to express my wholehearted support for the educators of the Rockford Public Schools.
Our educators are the backbone of our children’s future. Ensuring fair pay and supportive working conditions directly impacts the classrooms where our babies learn and grow. When we invest in our teachers, we invest in the success and well-being of every child in Rockford. I urge all parties to work toward a resolution that acknowledges the vital role educators play in nurturing our children.
As a proud product of Rockford Public Schools, my journey began in the halls of Bloom Elementary, continued through Eisenhower Middle School, and culminated at Jefferson High School. The education, guidance, and mentorship I received from these schools shaped who I am today. Because of that foundation, I feel a deep connection to both the teachers who dedicate themselves to our children and the families who rely on them. It’s that personal history that makes me passionate about ensuring our current educators are supported, valued, and positioned to give every student the opportunities I was fortunate to have.
Thank you for your time, and know that my commitment to supporting Rockford’s teachers—and, ultimately, our children—remains steadfast.
With kind regards to you and the students we serve, I remain,Â
Yours sincerely,Â
Â
