State Representative Maurice West, founder of Share the Warmth-Rockford, held the 8th annual Share the Warmth drive earlier this month and today delivered warm articles of clothing to shelters in our community. “Our community had an attitude of gratitude! This was the largest donation for Share the Warmth to date,” said West. “Nearly 700 articles of warm clothing will go towards helping those struggling with a lack of consistent housing and warm clothing this winter.”
This year Share the Warmth-Rockford partnered with Open Arms Learning Center and State Farm Agent Leslie West to successfully collect warm articles of clothing for our community. Donations were delivered to the Rockford Rescue Mission, Shelter Care Ministries, and Carpenter’s Place where they will help to support and uplift people who need it most this holiday season.
“This is why I founded Share the Warmth-Rockford in November 2014 and we've successfully donated thousands of articles of warm clothing since,” West added. “I am so grateful to our partners and all those who donated this year.”
